Thank you for registering your team for the 2024 Bellarmine/Sacred Heart Invitational presented by Saucony and Run With Us. Your support of the meet is appreciated. Here are some last-minute notes to make your participation an enjoyable one at our meet:
- Packet Pick up will be at the Check in tent, all entry fees must be paid at packet pick up, either by school check or personal check payable to: Bellarmine/Sacred Heart Invitational.
- If you need to make any adjustments (add or change info) to your roster, they must be made before the meet starts at the check in area.
- If you do not have a bib for a new runner, fill out the add athletes’ sheet at the check in table, pay $10 and take the add ticket to the Timing Tent
- If you need to make a change on the information for one of your runners, fill out a change of information sheet on that athlete at the check in table. And follow above steps.
- Please make plans to have your athletes transported to the meet on time. I would recommend that you plan to arrive at 1 to 2 hours before the first race.
- Parking: Please check the website for designated Bus Parking and School Vans. Spectator Parking is Merry-Go-Round Parking Lot-1
- Directions and Location of the meet is posted on the website bell-jeff.org under the race location link.
- Our meet is shaping up to be one of the best ever. Remember that this meet favors the varsity races. The rules of cross country stipulate that the top 7 runners on the team run varsity and the remaining athletes run in their appropriate levels. Freshman and Sophomore athletes may run in their grade level race even if they are in the top 7 on the team. All remaining athletes Juniors and Seniors who are not on the Varsity may run JV. There is no Sophomore Girls race, you may run them in the JV race if they are not on Varsity. As usual though, the lower level races will provide equitable competition to make everyone’s experience a positive one.
- The Doug Speck Sweepstakes entries will be posted on the meet web site Monday night 9/26/24, the winning team will receive 7 backpacks from Relay Apparel.
- DIVISIONS: Our meet divisions are based on school size. Red Division is for 1401 and up- White Division is for 1400 and below, ALL RANKED teams in any division will be placed in the seeded race, not being ranked does not exclude you from this race, it is intended for the top teams entered in the meet, in honor of Doug Speck; therefore if you would like to be placed in the seeded race please email Jim Couch at jimcouch@bell-jeff.org. Your team can be moved up but never down in division placing.
- Reminder: ONLY COACHES are allowed up the hills of the course, please help us keep it safe for the athletes as athletes will be going up and returning from their races.
- Please remind parents and athletes stay off the street if they are not racing, and listen to the park rangers and course security, this is a safety precaution.
- When you set up team camps, please place your EZ up at least 5 yards from the race course so that there is room for spectators to see their athletes in the race. Bring tent stakes to anchor the EZ ups down. On windy days those EZ ups flip and fly and can injure people.
- No pets allowed on the course. If pets are brought, they will have to be on a leash at all times, please pick up after your pets. Please make sure your parents are aware of this Park regulation.
- AWARDS: Medals will be given out to the top 50 in every race. The winner of every Boys and Girls Varsity race will receive a pair of Saucony Shoes. Team trophies will be for the Champion and Runner up, please pick them up before leaving, as we will not be mailing them out. Have your athletes pick their medal at the awards tent after the official results have been posted for each race. Medals will NOT be given in the finish chute.
- TIMING: Timing will be done through Extra Mile Timing, please make sure you return all chips before leaving. Reminder that Extra Mile Timing will charge you for all unreturned chips.
- HYDRATE!!! As it looks the weather forecast for next Saturday will be in the 80's so we ask that you keep well hydrated.
- Remind your parents, the MEDICAL STAFF should be the only ones to initiate a 911 call. There are 1 First Aid Stations, one at the Finish Line and another one in the Parking Lot area. Please caution your parents NOT TO CALL 911.
- PLEASE CHECK THE WEBSITE FOR ANY LAST-MINUTE CHANGES!!!
Thank you for going over this important information and for sharing it with your coaches and parents on your team.
